Introduction to the Series

This is the first of a series on the Indigo and Crystal children and our interactions with them. It is my heart's desire that the blessed children that have embodied with a great mission for healing planet Earth and her inhabitants be honored and supported in their mission. The series will cover:

• The adult's inner preparation for parenting, teaching and interacting with the Indigo and Crystal children;
• Practical tools for embarking upon the healing journey in order to serve the Indigo and Crystal children;
• The personal and planetary mission of the Indigo and Crystal children;
• Psychological and spiritual profile of the various Indigo types and of the Crystal children;
• Keys for understanding and interacting with the Indigo and Crystal children (for parents, teachers and peers);
• The educational paradigm that the Indigo and Crystal children require in order to thrive;

Part 1 - The Adult’s Inner Preparation for Service

In order to serve the Indigo and Crystal Child, the adult must come to terms with several questions. First of all, "How will I serve the child?" Whether we are a parent, a teacher or a friend of the child, how will we serve this child? In fact, do we even feel the great awe of the honor of serving or do we have a sense of entitlement to our role as a superior? Are we, in fact, superior to this child? If not, why and by what authority have we claimed this superiority? What is the right perspective of the superiority that the adult feels and what are the parameters of our role as servant? These are all questions that must be answered in order to enter into a balanced relationship with the child.

How I Will Serve

We begin by realizing that the life that is before us is neither greater nor lesser than we are by virtue of age, for the soul is ageless. We know that we are not wiser by virtue of experience in this life, for the soul has lived before. We do not own nor possess this one, for the soul is free. We do not control who or what this one is or shall be, for the soul is an individual by birthright. We have the great honor and duty of caring for this lifestream as our parents, before us, cared for us. Even as we do not belong to our parents, for we claim freedom and liberty, this child does not belong to us! S/he is a soul journeying along the various pathways of earth and it is our job to protect, nurture and care for her/his well-being but not to choose the path that s/he will follow.

May we have the tools that we need to do our job as caretaker:

• A burning love that is willing to sacrifice any elements of self that will hurt this little one;
• A brilliant wisdom that provides us with understanding and the ability to discern her/his needs;
• A sweet humility that will help us to set our egos aside for the well-being of this little one;
• A firm commitment to Truth that will allow us to see things as they really are;
• A pure heart that only desires what God would desire for each one of us;
• An unselfish desire to put our own whims and needs aside so that they may not hinder the one that we serve;
• A joyous awareness that we can accomplish all of this and that we can change the base elements of self, daily, if we so will. We are the alchemists in the laboratory of our own being!

The Adult's Sense of Superiority

The adult's superiority lies in the fact that s/he has a superior level of responsibility with this particular child as parent, teacher or mentor. Life has placed a being into the arms of this adult and it becomes the great duty and responsibility of the adult to care for this child through loving service. This endowment of "power" is given that we might protect the natural unfolding of this child's being.

Therefore, we may not use this power to control, manipulate or condemn another being. Most of us would agree that it is never our intent to do this, but what story do our actions tell? If it is not our intent to enter into patterns of the misuse of power with our children, then why do so many parents find themselves in this situation? We realize that we have absorbed these very patterns of behavior from our own parents and from society at large. Changes in parenting have begun to take place but we need a revolution. We need a total paradigm shift so that we are parenting as enlightened beings-from the heart and not from unbalanced emotions.

In order to clear our own psychological patterns and behavioral habits we need to re-parent ourselves! This is where it begins. There is a child inside all of us as the inner child or soul. Our own inner child, or soul, has had many wounds inflicted upon her/him by well-meaning individuals (and not so well-meaning) that have interacted with us throughout our lives. We must tend to these wounds. They cannot be ignored, for each time that an open wound is touched the pain is overwhelming. Our reaction to this pain is one of the defense mechanisms. We might push away the finger that has touched our wound, with anger, controlling behavior, criticism, condescension, etc. The list is long and the hurt that we inflict on others returns as added pain to ourselves.

In order to properly serve the Indigo and Crystal child, we do not need to be perfect…not at all. We simply need to be on the road to healing and growth. The energy that this generates is sufficient for a healthy interaction with the Warrior Indigo who will challenge everything within us that is not in keeping with Truth. It is also sufficient for the softness that we require to be receptive to the energies of the sensitivities that the Sensitive Indigos and the Crystal children carry.

Perspective

It is important that we apply the same level of compassion toward our own inner child that we would apply toward the little child. We must be understanding with our shortcomings, yet firm in our determination to grow. We require kindness, yet discipline. The key is to have the DESIRE to grow and heal in order to serve the child optimally. Once the desire and intent are present, the entire universe reaches out with abundant resources to assist us in fulfilling this great mission.

Even as we are individually healing our inner wounds, we are doing so at a planetary level as well. We are all members of the family of Terra, working out the dysfunctions that have existed within our planet for thousands of years. Such as each member of a family experiences the dysfunctions differently, we have experienced the dysfunctions of Terra differently, but we are all a part of the resolution of the pain that has been upon our planet for so long. Together, hand in hand, we heal planet earth as we heal ourselves personally. This is the great work that the Indigo children have offered to assist us with! Let us become excited with the opportunities that raising these blessed children bring to us and let us rejoice that they may poke their fingers into our wounds so that we may then feel the presence of a wound and then heal it. Together, we are One.
